It is an honor to present a selection of Allan Adler’s work on my website. Allan is recognized as one of the most important innovators in postwar silver design. For the past sixty years he has created some of the most beautiful sterling flatware, hollowware and jewelry in the world. His work is typified by clean lines, perfect composition, and minimal ornamentation. One of only a few American silversmiths who work entirely by hand, Allan can be found daily in his Los Angeles workshop alongside his team of artisans. Each piece of silver that comes out of this workshop is spun, forged and polished with impeccable attention to detail. Allan’s combination of style and craftsmanship has garnered substantial attention over the years. He was commissioned to design the pins the first seven astronauts wore into space. He has been honored by the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Institution and is designated as a Living Treasure in the State of California. His clients include a list of some of the best known celebrities of our time, including Clark Gable, Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward, Shirley Maclaine, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews, Steven Spielberg, Michael Jackson and Katharine Hepburn.
